Windhoff supplies maintenance vehicles to the Netherlands
Innovative technology for high-peed rail line
In the near future, the new high-speed line HSL Zuid in the Netherlands will be serviced and maintained using dedicated rail vehicles from Windhoff Bahn- und Anlagentechnik GmbH, the first of which to start service by early 2008.
The user consortium INFRASPEED Maintenance has ordered two 120 km/h vehicles which are based on the proven Multi-Proposal-Vehicle concept (MPV).
The 21 m rail vehicle provides for a safe and amply dimensioned platform for a range of dedicated equipment: Aside from the cabin there is room for a crane with a separate operator's cab plus 40 foot of intermediate space as the firm base for various replaceable work modules.
Initially, the order includes change-over modules with work lift platforms. Negotiations are under way for other work modules to be provided at a later date.
A major argument in favour of Windhoff has been the certification of this concept as well as the possibility to incorporate the train safety systems as they are required for this high-speed line.
